Energy Healing in Pendleton and Eastern OregonBringing an Ancient Practice Home

Most energy healing practitioners in Oregon are clustered in Portland. Here's why I practice this work in Pendleton instead, and what that actually looks like.

TL;DR

Most energy healing practitioners in Oregon are based in Portland. I live and practice in Pendleton instead, offering Shiva Murti, a Balinese energy healing lineage I trained in under Jero Jason, to a part of the state that doesn't otherwise have it. Pendleton already has real healing and wellness work happening, Acosia Red Elk's 7GEN Wellness Center among them, and I've volunteered alongside that work myself. What I offer is a different tradition, most often sought out for things like chronic pain that hasn't fully resolved through conventional care, tracked session to session rather than taken on faith.

Pendleton has real wellness and healing work happening in it already. Acosia Red Elk, an enrolled member of the Umatilla Tribe and 10x World Champion Jingle Dancer, owns 7GEN Wellness Center downtown, teaching a fusion of tribal dance and yoga rooted in Indigenous tradition. I've volunteered there myself, at 7GEN's community healing days a couple years back, so this isn't a name I'm dropping for local color. It's work I've stood alongside.

What isn't here, as far as I know, is Shiva Murti. I live in Pendleton, and this specific Balinese energy healing lineage is what I practice and teach, a different tradition from what 7GEN offers, and one I got to know a little better by showing up for theirs.

A Practice That Followed Me Home

I didn't move to Eastern Oregon to build a healing practice. I was already here. The Shiva Murti tradition I trained in, through Jero Jason, in the Gana Usadha Balinese lineage, came to me the way most real training does: slowly, through years of work, not by relocating somewhere it would be easier to market.

So when people ask why I practice energy healing in a place where almost nobody else offers this particular tradition, the honest answer is simpler than they expect. This is home. The work followed me here, not the other way around.

That's part of why community work matters to me here beyond just my own sessions. Pendleton already has people doing real healing work, Acosia's is one example, and being part of that fabric, even in a small way like volunteering at a community healing day, matters more to me than building something separate from it.

This is home. The work followed me here, not the other way around.

What That Actually Looks Like Day to Day

Most of my sessions happen remotely, over video, which matters more in a rural region than it would in a city. You don't need to drive to Portland or Bend to work with someone in this tradition. I also do local, in-person community work here in Pendleton, and travel monthly to Richland, Washington for in-person sessions there.

A lot of what brings people in isn't abstract. It's chronic pain that hasn't fully resolved with conventional care, tension that's been sitting in the body for months or years, the kind of thing where you've done the physical therapy, seen the specialists, and you're still not where you want to be. Energy healing isn't a replacement for medical care and I won't tell you it cures anything. What it does, in my own sessions, is work with the nervous system directly, tracked in real time with the SUDS scale rather than just taking someone's word for how they feel afterward.

On the SUDS Scale

SUDS (Subjective Units of Distress Scale) is a simple 0-10 self-reported measure, used throughout a session to track real shifts as they happen rather than relying on a single impression afterward. It doesn't require belief in anything to use, only honest reporting of what a person actually notices.

Skeptical Is Fine

If you're skeptical that any of this does anything, you're exactly the kind of person I like working with. Twenty years in, I've learned that the clients who show up doubtful and just pay attention to what actually shifts in their body tend to get the clearest results, not because belief is required, but because they're honest reporters of what changed and what didn't.
